Tagline: Smarter credit line usage starts here.
LineWise is a credit card strategy assistant for managing utilization across credit lines and building smarter credit habits.
Using user-permissioned financial data, LineWise tracks balances, credit limits, available credit, utilization, statement balances, estimated closing dates, and due dates across connected credit card accounts. Five core anchors
| # | What LineWise delivers |
|---|---|
| 1 | User-permissioned financial data — securely connects to accounts you authorize to track credit card activity across connected cards |
| 2 | Use credit more strategically — understand how your credit lines are being used so you can make more informed credit card decisions |
| 3 | Optimized total credit line usage — manage utilization across multiple cards, not just one card at a time |
| 4 | Single clear dashboard — balances, limits, available credit, utilization, statement balances, estimated closing dates, and due dates in one organized view |
| 5 | Smart reminders and suggested actions — timely nudges before high utilization, missed due dates, or statement timing surprises |
The problem
Most finance apps show what you owe. They rarely help you answer the questions that shape utilization, interest charges, and monthly cash flow:
- How much of my total credit line am I using across all cards?
- Which card should I use for this purchase?
- Am I about to report too high a balance at statement closing?
- Should I pay now, before closing, or only the statement balance before the due date?
- Do I have enough available credit on the right card when I need it?
Managing multiple cards often becomes a manual guessing game — spread across bank apps, spreadsheets, and calendar reminders — with no single view of total credit line utilization or upcoming statement and due dates.
What LineWise does
LineWise connects to your bank and credit card accounts through Plaid Link with OAuth. You sign in at your institution and grant permission for LineWise to access your data; LineWise never receives or stores your bank username or password.
Once connected, LineWise uses user-permissioned data to power a credit strategy engine:
| Data tracked | What you get |
|---|---|
| Balances, credit limits, available credit | Per-card and portfolio-wide view of how lines are used |
| Utilization (per card and total) | Bands, alerts, and suggested card for your next purchase |
| Statement balances, due dates, estimated closing dates | Payment timing guidance and countdown reminders |
| Monthly activity across cards | One dashboard instead of logging into every bank app |
LineWise turns reactive balance-checking into a clear, organized, data-driven system for monthly credit card activity.
Who it's for
LineWise is designed for consumers who want to:
- Use credit more strategically — plan around statement cycles and due dates, not just spend
- Optimize total credit line usage across multiple cards — spread utilization instead of stacking it on one card
- Improve financial organization — one place for limits, balances, dates, and reminders
- Stay ahead of monthly credit card activity — closing dates, due dates, and payment suggestions in one view
LineWise is a good fit if you carry multiple credit cards, care about utilization and statement timing, prefer bank OAuth over sharing credentials with third-party apps, and want reminders for pay-before-closing and pay-before-due windows.
How bank connection works
LineWise uses Plaid Link OAuth. For supported institutions (Bank of America, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and others):
- You choose your bank inside LineWise.
- You are redirected to your bank's website or app to sign in and grant consent.
- You return to LineWise to finish linking.
- LineWise receives read access to user-permissioned account data via Plaid — not your login credentials.
This is the same OAuth pattern major US banks require for third-party financial apps in production.
Supported institutions
LineWise targets major US banks that require OAuth in production:
- Bank of America
- Chase / J.P. Morgan
- Morgan Stanley
- Citi (Citibank)
- U.S. Bank
- Wells Fargo
Additional institutions available through Plaid may work in Sandbox before Production OAuth approval is complete.
What LineWise is not
LineWise is not a credit repair company, lender, debt settlement provider, or credit bureau. LineWise does not guarantee credit approval, credit limit increases, lower rates, rewards, or credit score improvement. Credit scores are determined by credit bureaus and scoring models using multiple factors. LineWise provides information and reminders to support your decisions — it does not move money or negotiate with lenders on your behalf.
